I am not really that knowledgeable when it comes to hacking and such. I know enough about technology, but I don’t claim to be an expert. Ask me about how to tinker with a blog’s template and I just might give you an answer.
Anyway, as I was dropping cards a few minutes ago, I saw a post by Xyber from Logging the Cyber World about the Hacker’s New Way to Hack. I got scared of this because I recently bought a portable hard drive to store my laptop’s programs and files. It is a back up storage for me should my laptop crashes in the future. According to Xyber, the “in” thumb drive is the newest avenue for hackers to hack your computer. According to the Yahoo News that he read…
ThreatSense.Net, the malware monitoring site run by antivirus software maker Eset, found that 10.3% of recent malware detections involved programs trying to take advantage of thumb drives and other removable media.
So beware, friends! I am even eying this new Samsung 160GB portable HD that I saw in a friend’s email to me. Of course, I don’t plug in my portable HD anywhere but there will come a time when you might need to use other people’s computer to access your files, right? And that just might start the hacking… who knows?
Just be careful. I know we always target ways on how to make our lives easier. But there are things that can cause more harm than good.

I use removable storage, but I would never plug it into anyone’s computer, lol. I also remove mine when I’m not at my computer. Just because I’m paranoid.
