I met with an old staff of mine from a graphics company I worked for before. I actually meet with the two staff, who worked under me, from time to time. We catch up on the things happening in our personal and professional lives. I am proud to say that the two are working for big corporations and are holding important positions. They are vocal in saying that the knowledge they used in starting to climb the corporate ladder came from me.
One of the two, M, was recently promoted. It was the reason why we met. She treated us to a sumptuous dinner in a Chinese restaurant. She told us about her great boss, the seminars she attended, a training she conducted regarding taxation and the additional benefit that goes with her promotion, a car allowance. We had so much fun talking about our professions. Being with people of the same profession is really something. Expect people of different professions not to understand a word we’re saying!
It was a fun dinner. We went to a coffee shop afterwards to continue the catching up. We forgot the time and ended up going our separate ways around two in the morning already. What a night!
