Globe Tattoo Prepaid Broadband

My internet service provider was down the whole day last May 13. Since my work is done online, I couldn’t afford a very long down time. Instead of going to an internet café, I thought of just buying a plug-it, Globe Tattoo Prepaid Broadband. I read about this SUPERSURF50 promo they have. For 50 pesos, you can surf all day long. Great promise, don’t you think?

I must say that I have a high expectation from the broadband kit. It is dependent on the signal of Globe in the area, I was told. Our whole family is using Globe lines because it is the telecom with the most stable signal in our area. But when I tried using it in my desktop, there was no signal! My desktop is located near the window. I get full bar on two of my cellphones when I am in this corner of our home. With the Tattoo there was no signal at all!

I tried using it in my laptop. I got a signal. One bar. I tried connecting, I got connected easily. But guess what? It can only give me 3.6Mbps speed. Tops. My sister and I noted that our dial-up that I used before was faster than the Tattoo broadband. It was so disappointing!

Anyway, I will still use it in the future when my DSL’s down again. I always need a back up with me. I can also use it when I am on the road.

But my suggestion, check with other plug-it users in your area. It really depends on it, especially if you live in a place like ours where there are other houses dwarfing our home.
