Two old blogs

I had problems with my two old blogs a couple of days ago. I thought it was already taken back from me by the owner! I must admit that I no longer hold any control over those two blogs. I should have returned it a long time ago. But since I still need it, I just pretend like everything’s still okay and I continue to claim the blogs as mine.

One of these days, though, I will have no more recourse but to give those two blogs back. First of all, I don’t talk to the owner anymore. We had a falling out more than a year ago. All because of an unfounded suspicion of her. Hello spam! I won’t ever do that to her or to anybody I know! I don’t even know how to do it in the first place! Anyway… Secondly, the blogs lost its rankings already. Lastly, it’s really bad of me to continue claiming it. I should give it back!

But soon. Not now. Soon. I promise.

Gift for his 16th

Randy is set to buy gold coins. It will be his gift to his son who will be turning 16 next month. He wants to give him something that he can use in the long run. So an investment is what he thought of.

The US Gold Bureau is available to assist individuals like Randy who wants to buy gold and silver coins as well as other precious metals. It’s a good investment, if you ask me. You can also ask the hard assets professionals at the site. Go to USGoldBureau.com now and know more about this kind of investment.

Hurry before everyone does!

Peso-US Dollar exchange rate

Because of the positive response to President Noynoy Aquino, the peso is gaining strength the past few days. When I did a withdrawal in Paypal two days ago, the US Dollar-Peso exchange rate was US$1 : Php43.6870. Before that, peso was in the 44-something range.

A strong peso is bad for bloggers like me who rely on a higher exchange rate when we withdraw money in our Paypal accounts. For the Philippine economy, a strong peso is a sign of progress (unless there’s a hocus-pocus in the Central Bank, that is).

It’s always mixed feelings for me. Although if I’d be honest about it, I’d be much happier to see the peso-dollar rate in the 50-something range!

Transistor radio

Transistor Radio

One of the things I learned during typhoon Basyang was this… transistor radio, one that is still powered by batteries, is best kept on hand. Your high-tech gadgets have no use when there’s no electricity to power it. Unless, of course, you have those rechargeable ones ready.

When the typhoon hit the metro and electricity was cut off, we were so thankful for the transistor radio that I bought my dad a year ago. I bought it because he loves listening to the news even when he’s at our terrace. So I figured that it would be handy for him. Little did I know that we would benefit from it during a really nasty typhoon.

I suggest you keep on hand a transistor radio, candles and matchsticks. It will all come handy during a typhoon and brownout.

Fun with the cruise

The WordPress designer I am following in Twitter is tweeting about his recent stint with the Royal Caribbean cruise. He went on one with his wife and his kid. You can tell how fun it was just by the photos he also tweeted out.

I have been planning to bring my family on a cruise but it’ll have to wait because I don’t have enough funds right now. But I wish it will be soon. I would want the same fun for me and my family.

A visit from the relatives

I didn’t even know that some relatives will be visiting us the other day. I was unprepared! I was a mess that day because I was cleaning my stuff when all of a sudden the relatives are there. Good thing they are close to us so it’s not embarrassing to be in front of them looking like a mess.

They went to the city to get the 5th wheel insurance plan they got. Since they were in the city already, they thought they might as well drop by to visit us. We had a blast catching up! They stayed until dinner then went home after. We are looking forward to their next visit.

Always the reliable one

Being prepared is a good thing. She has a pulse oximeter with her should her mom needs it. She has always been like that, the ready one. The one who can be relied on. The one whom you can turn to when you need something for an emergency.

There are many instances in the past that people around her had been saved because she was there ready to help. She’s actually heaven-sent for those people she helped save.

Go for the sure ones

The only way to go about managing your finances now is to be conservative. You know, go for the sure ones. If you are thinking of buying a pair of shoes, go for the one you know that will last longer than your last pair. If you are thinking of investing, go and buy gold bullion. It will preserve your wealth more than any other type of investment. Go for the sure ones always.

If you feel like you are ready to go for the sure ones, make sure you go to USGoldBureau.com right away. Know more about investing in gold, silver and other precious metals. Make sure you only invest in what will surely give you a good return.

Holidays once more

The holiday season is fast approaching once again. We are nearing the end of July and before you know it, it’s December once again! I am already listing down gift ideas for family and friends. I have listed down unique gadgets and accessories for my brother, male techie cousins as well as my aunt Win. My brother and the relatives I mentioned are gadget aficionados who are always on the lookout for what’s new. I just know they will love what I have in mind for them.

I am hoping that it will fit in my budget, the items I’ve listed down for everyone. Giving gifts is something I take seriously. I want the recipients to be happy that’s why I even conduct a survey of sorts to determine what they really want.

For the coach!

Icko and his friends would like to give their coach something to remember them by. Icko along with 5 of his teammates on the varsity basketball team will be graduating soon. As early as now, they want to give their coach a token of appreciation for the four years of hard work he spent with them in and out of the basketball court. Icko’s mom told him to get one of the coach gifts at RE Sports, Inc. and then have it customized.

I just love how kids appreciate all the hard work their elders put up for them. Some are unappreciative but most recognize it and even show their elders appreciation for it all. Much like what Icko and his friends are going to do for their coach.

Breaking news updates on Twitter

Twitter

Twitter is a great way for me to update myself on what’s happening around the world. I get updates from local news sites like ABS-CBN Breaking News and I also get international news updates from CNN Breaking News. I just felt so out of touch with the world during typhoon Basyang because there’s no electricity and I was Twitter-less during that period.

And then today, I found out that there was a series of earthquakes in the southern part of the Philippines. Again, thanks to Twitter for the updates!

Are you on Twitter, too? Follow me.

Can you live without…

Electricity, water, dial tone, cellphone signal, cable tv, and internet connection?

Apart from water which I can’t live without, I realized that I can but it’s hard and life is just plain boring! You can talk to every one at home but when you feel like shutting up, you don’t have anything else to do but sleep or stare into space. I think I was able to dream about so many things already. I couldn’t even read because there’s no electricity and my poor eyesight will get poorer if I insist on reading by candlelight.

It made me realize that the things we now have – cellphone, cable tv, internet, etc. – are given to us to make life more interesting.

Can you live without the things I mentioned above?

May I suggest…

I have a suggestion to P-Noy. Why not after the Wang-Wang campaign, go after those who are violating traffic laws? Beating the red light, driving under the influence of alcohol or prohibited drugs, driving without plate numbers, driving without driver’s license, counterflowing, swerving, etc. Don’t focus on the superficial alone. There are so many other traffic violations that are more worthy of the attention of the authorities.

Then go after illegal connections? Electricity, water, cable. Also, focus on upgrading the instruments in PAGASA. Focus also on education as I noticed more and more kids now don’t know how to spell basic words and can’t even compute single digit numbers!

And there’s so much more to focus on. I know Wang-Wang is just a start. I actually salute the president for leading by example. But there’s so much more to focus on and I hope he gets to it.

Family tree = kissing couple?!?

Facebook Ads

Have you seen this Facebook ad? I was surprised to see this. Imagine advertising about the family tree and then showing a photo of a couple kissing. Why? What is the connection between the advertisement and the photo???

Some people are so irresponsible! They know all along that there are impressionable kids already using Facebook. Our 4-year-old is even playing Pet Society in it. Just imagine if she saw the same ad and she would ask me what it meant. What does it mean, anyway? Does it mean that figuring out your family tree conjures in your mind a couple kissing? Does the couple kissing mean they started the family tree? Please tell me what you think of the ridiculous Facebook ad above!
