Reminded of the boss

Whenever I see holiday photo cards I am reminded of my former boss. Every year her family would engage in photo sessions and they will choose one photo to use for the holiday photo cards they will send out to family and friends.

And then I saw one just now. It’s of a friend and his family. They, too, give out photo cards every Christmas to family and friends.

It just reminded me of my former boss and her penchant for bragging about every little thing about her family. Some people were annoyed over that attitude of hers but I could relate to her bragging because I feel the same way towards my family. In a way, that made us kindred souls.

Steve Jobs: An inspiration

Steve Jobs

You know whenever I read anything about Steve Jobs, it makes me feel ashamed for being lazy and a big fan of procrastination. The guy was born out of wedlock. He was up for adoption when he was born. He was a college dropout. But look at what he was able to do. He changed the way we live through his inventions. Technology is no longer what it used to be because of him.

And for that we will always be thankful that the world gave us a Steve Jobs!

Can you imagine how much joy having thousands of songs inside your pocket at any given time has brought us (iPod)? How about a thin and mobile version of our computers (iTouch and iPad) that we can bring anywhere? And there’s the iPhone that is a cellphone, camera, video recorder, voice recorder and computer all in one! He brought us so much in such a short time!

He will sorely be missed but Steve Jobs will continue to live on as an inspiration to you and me.

Feed for your visitors

One of the things that a good blogger friend taught me during my first few months of being a full time blogger was the value of an rss feed. She told me that I need to know it so as to promote and make use of it to gain readers. And that’s what I did. I took note of my blog’s rss feed and used it to drive traffic to my blog.

Another important element to take note of is the rss feed analytics. Know what your readers and visitors are interested in. Know your target audience and know what they want. That way you will know what your audience are going back for. And you can write more about that topic. Review your feed analytics from time to time so that you have a clear grasp as to what makes your readers tick. I learned all that and managed to apply it with my very first personal blog.

If you want to do the same thing, I say go to FeedCat.net now. It’s easy and the site has managed to help thousands of registered members already. Know your feed audience data and at the same time you can earn through your feeds. Go to the site now.

Going out of town

Two families from our neighborhood have planned an out of town trip this coming weekend. They will be using curt trailer hitches to bring all their stuff as they are really big in number. They will be going to a town just outside the city and will stay there for three days. They plan to swim and just bond with each other.

I wish them luck! It’s not easy traveling with a number of people but, of course, it can be done. My family and I have done it a couple of times in the past. We traveled to different towns with my dad’s siblings’ families and it was chaotic at best. But it was a lot of fun and we will most likely do it again given a chance.

I can’t decide!

There are times when I don’t know if I should feel proud that the people I only taught and/or encouraged are far better off than me nowadays. Sure, I feel happy for them but a part of me is confused why I was somewhat left behind. Envious much? Possibly.

I also feel weird about seeing how active some of them are.

No, I don’t regret teaching or helping out or encouraging others to join the bandwagon. In fact, I did it because I want to and it really came from the bottom of my heart, wanting to help out and all that. It is also my small way of paying it forward. I am honest enough to admit that without the help of a really good friend I wouldn’t be where I am now. It’s possibly just a feeling that I want to be as active as them but I just don’t have the drive anymore. Been there, done that.

So this is just me being weird and all.

Race tomorrow!

Jasper is preparing for a race tomorrow. No, he won’t be racing himself. It will be his remote control truck that will be racing in a race track just a little outside the city. He will be racing his rc truck alongside that of his friends. He is busy preparing for it, making sure he has the right rc batteries to bring with him. He doesn’t want to find himself without change of batteries when needed and his rc truck is nearing the finish line.

It happened to him two years ago. His rc truck was near the finish line when its batteries died and he found he had no spare batteries with him. He was so frustrated he lost the race. And that race had a grand prize of twenty grand! That will never happen to him again.

Walking in Singapore

I don’t know if the canvas shoes that my cousin will wear in Singapore will be the one she will use for walking there. We plan to walk and walk and walk in Singapore. We plan to explore the place and walk until we drop. I told my cousin I will wear slippers. But I don’t know if that is really conducive to that much walking. I will probably wear my sneakers for comfort. What do you think?

I told my family that I really plan to do a lot of traveling next year. I am not getting any younger and there are still a hundred or so destinations in my list of places to see before I turn 60. I need to get there! The sooner, the better!

That’s why I am waiting for airfare promos. And when I see one, I book a seat right away!

I’m sexy and I know it!

Have you heard that song yet? That’s the song that kept on playing in my head due to a shower party I attended.

We were having a shower party for a high school friend who will be getting married next month. The bridal shower was held last month and it’s just a dozen of us high school friends in attendance. It was gift-giving part already and one of my friends gave the bride-to-be some nipple pasties. Cat calls ensued and lots more sexy talk about the honeymoon and the marriage bed.

It was a lot of fun. Those of us who are still single and unattached, three of us to be specific, were laughing so hard about the things we heard from the married ladies. Topics that when discussed in a crowd will surely raise eyebrows from the oldies and will make the younger ladies blush.

WW: Meet Steve!

Meet Steve

I do think Steve will do his part in ‘upgrading’ some things up there ;)

Have a great day everyone!
